My name is Spring. You probably will never read this. This is my first post. Writing, well poetry and journaling, have been my healing grace. Especially during this season of my life. I find healing in words and I find healing in the Word. The Word of God. Every piece of my house is dotted with scriptures and plaques. Grateful. You are Loved. Pray Often. Be Strong. Joy. Yet, like all of you, challenges come. Days are long. Nights are short. Life can be one trial after another. How do we do what we do? How do we get by when life kicks us down? Well, dear sisters, we get up and we stand.
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)
In the Orchard. This is one of my favorite places to be. Growing up I had apple trees in my backyard, a strawberry patch, blackberries and raspberries and my grandmother would grow tomatoes and just about anything she could. It was one of my favorite places to be. The cool of the shade. My cousin reaching the top of the tree and throwing down the best ones. The first bite of summer. It was my hiding place. It was the place I would imagine my life differently. It was where I dreamed.
In the Orchard is a place to rest your hearts and minds from everyday life. From the chaos of losing you and finding to whom you belong. A place to grow. A place to pick things up or to let them down. A place to let your roots grow deep into the meaning of your life. By growing in the One who created you.
“Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7 NLT
